“What a manager” – Liverpool boss Klopp hails Sarri’s transformation

Jurgen Klopp has hailed Maurizio Sarri ahead of tonight’s game between the two managers’ teams.

Klopp was speaking ahead of the Carabao Cup clash, and said that his opposite number had undertaken a really big transformation that people don’t seem to be fully appreciating.

Given the limited time he had to work as manager too, the Reds boss is amazed what he’s been able to achieve:

“The biggest change I ever saw in such a short space of time. Wow. Style completely different. What a manager he is, to be honest,”

The Telegraph have the quotes from the amicable German, who has himself put a team through a similar transition – albeit over the course of several seasons.

There’s no doubt that what Sarri has done has been impressive, but to hear it from the mouth of a top coach is great validation. To be honest, if Sarri can improve the team he inherited as much as Klopp has improved Liverpool, we’ll be walking to consecutive Champions Leagues in no time.

There’s a way to go, but tomorrow is another opportunity to see Sarri’s good work in action.
