Major update on Pedro given after winger incurred shoulder injury against PAOK

Chelsea winger Pedro has picked up a shoulder injury that will almost certainly rule him out of his side’s Premier League encounter with West Ham United on Sunday.

The winger appeared to be in a certain level of discomfort very close to the end of the game against PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday, but Maurizio Sarri has calmed down the fears of his injury, insisting ‘it’s not a very serious injury’.

Sarri confirmed he was not entirely unaware of the injury situation with Pedro and revealed the player may not remain out for a long time after he received a medical briefing from club doctors.

“I don’t know. The problem is shoulder, but I don’t know exactly the situation. I have spoken with the doctor, but only for a few seconds. The doctor told me that probably it’s not a very serious injury.”

No matter how quickly he recovers from the injury, it is expected that the game will come too soon for him, as Maurizio Sarri would as well not be ready to take any chances. Pedro may miss the Carabao Cup next Wednesday as well as the game may have come too early for him but could be ready to face the Reds next weekend in the Premier League encounter.
