Chelsea have finally opened the scoring at Newcastle after 76 minutes of play!
Marcos Alonso charges into the penalty box, where he’s taken down with a poor sliding tackle, leaving the ref with no other choice than to point to the spot. Eden Hazard, who was meant to be subbed off after 60-70 minutes of play, stepped up to take the penalty and slotted it home for a well-deserved Chelsea lead!
It’s been all-Chelsea so far, as Rafa Benitez’s side have simply focused on keeping their defence tight and hopes of a tie alive.
Could the Blues finally break the curse after five successive Premier League games without a win at St. James’ Park?
