Maurizio Sarri is having his weekly press conference, and as always he was asked to lead off with some injury news.
His answer to who was fit was that Cesc Fabregas is out, with what he called a “very unusual” injury that would see him miss tomorrow’s game against Arsenal.
When pressed he revealed that it was a problem “near the knee” – but not in the knee. He didn’t say any more than that.
Cesc Fabregas has an 'unusual injury' according to Sarri. Not in his knee but near his knee. #CFC

It’s all rather odd, but it’s not a huge loss either way. Fabregas wouldn’t be in the first choice three in midfield, and he might not even be the first option off the bench, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek pressing for that position.
Sarri says Fabregas is out of Arsenal game: "I hope he will be able to be on the pitch in the next week but I'm not sure. It's nothing serious but it's a very unusual injury" #cfc

It will be nice to have the Spaniard back, and he will undoubtedly have a role in this team, but for now we can live without him.
We just hope that this odd injury clears up quickly.
