Ruben Loftus-Cheek has a perfect place in Maurizio Sarri’s squad – assuming this one thing is true

The transfer window is close, and Chelsea fans can start to take stock of their squad composition.

Mateo Kovacic has joined in midfield, along with Jorginho, and Ruben Loftus Cheek didn’t go anywhere before the deadline. He can still move abroad, but it looks like he will stay and fight for minutes in the midfield.

Some have complained about the England international’s path to the first team being blocked by these two major moves. But the amount of games we’re going to play this season should mean Ruben comes out of this season with a good number of games.

Even if he doesn’t play in the Premier League at all, there will be enough game in 3 cup competitions to keep him happy.

Then there are injuries and suspensions to consider. As long as he’s first in the queue to replace any of the three starters when they’re missing, There should be no doubt that there’s plenty of gametime available for him to develop further and prove himself this season.
