Chelsea fans were very vocal on social media during Real Madrid’s UEFA Super Cup clash with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
The fans were clearly discontent at sight of Diego Costa bullying Real Madrid’s defense into submission as Diego Simeone’s men secured a convincing 4-2 win over Real.
Costa scored two goals and both were taken sublimely in each half of the game to find the victory for the men from the Wanda Metropolitano. Saul Niguez and Koke scored two more goals to seal the win.
In January this year, Costa officially moved to Atletico Madrid after his feud with then Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte. The feud began in the summer of 2016 when the striker revealed a text message that Conte sent him, after the 2015/2016 season.
Blues fans were clearly enraged after the striker’s exploits in the Super Cup clash, first scoring within a minute after heading the ball past Marcelo and striking a straight and hard shot past Keylor Navas and then scoring from close range in extra time. Here are some of their comments on Twitter:
