“I am not worried about Morata” – Chelsea manager defender his misfiring forward

Maurizio Sarri has been speaking after the friendly loss to Arsenal on penalties, and the new Chelsea manager has denied that he is concerned about the form of Alvaro Morata.

The Spaniard had only been in training for a short time before the game, and he didn’t look on his game at all. He fluffed some chances up and messed up a counter attack.

To add insult to injury, he missed a penalty, seeing Petr Cech’s good save keep him off the scoresheet.

He looked like his head was elsewhere, and that was raised by journalists after the game.

The official Chelsea website has quotes from Sarri after the game, and he denied that his big money striker’s form was troubling him.

“I am not worried about Morata” he straight batted when asked about the Spaniard’s issues, but it’s hard to believe that can be fully true.

There are a few pressing things for him to deal with, but there’s not much higher up on his list than his striker situation.
