Negatives from Chelsea’s impressive 3-0 win over Huddersfield

Chelsea beat Huddersfield 3-0 away from home. It was a good performance overall, with the team stepping up after the introduction of Eden Hazard in the first half, but it wasn’t perfect.

Here are the negatives from today’s win:

-Slow start. It’s easy to focus on what was a much better performance in the second half, but for more than half the game a very limited Huddersfield had limited us to just sterile possession.

-Hudson-Odoi. The young winger, having been our best player in preseason without doubt, was absent even from the bench. This lead to outcry on social media, but there are now rumours than he may have picked up an injury that ruled him out.

-Alvaro Morata. The striker didn’t have a terrible day, and had some nice touches, but his form in front of goal doesn’t look to be coming back. He shanked a good shot wide in the first half, and the team didn’t really get any promsing crosses to him to use his ability in the air.
