In the 60th minute of Chelsea’s win over Huddersfield, they brought on Eden Hazard and Mateo Kovacic.
Hazard is the Blues’ star player, and this was his first home appearance of the season after a superb World Cup, and some serious interest from Real Madrid – so there’s no surprise that he got the largest ovation.
His performance on the pitch wasn’t bad either, and Arsenal sank deeper and deeper whenever he got on the ball.
But we already knew exactly how the Belgian maestro would fit into this team. Kovacic was an unknown quantity, but very quickly looked at home.
His ability to run with the ball is something we haven’t really seen from our central midfielders recently, and it was evident on several occasions in this cameo alone how vital it could be for our team.
The Croatian will hopefully be fit to start within a couple of weeks, and fans are already rubbing their hands at the though.
