Maurizio Sarri has just had his first full press conference ahead of a Premier League game, and there were lots of questions about Eden Hazard, among other things.
He was asked about whether the attacker had asked to leave the club this summer, and Liam Twomey of ESPN recorded his answer:
Sarri: "Hazard is with us. I have spoken with him three, four times for everything & he never said something about the market. He’s very happy to stay here." #cfc

That’s promising news. Hazard clearly got the message early in this window that he wasn’t going anywhere, and decided to settle down and get on with it – unlike his international teammate Thibaut Courtois.
But just because he hasn’t kicked up a fuss this summer doesn’t mean we won’t be off in a year’s time. In the summer of 2019 he will have just one year on his contract remaining, as Courtois had this summer.
That will put the ball in his court, and if he continues to avoid signing a new deal, we may be forced to finally relinquish him.
