Maurizio Sarri gives his thoughts about his team’s first Premier League game

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has spoken after the win over Huddersfield about his thoughts on the Chelsea performance.

The Italian coach highlighted that his team were still in the early stages of development, and would need more time to improve and learn his system.

This three points, earned after a hard fought game that saw the Blues really struggle to get going in the early stages, are invaluable for this team learning on its feet.

The manager also noted the way that the team had recovered from a tricky early period where their smaller midfield players were heavily pressured by the home side’s physicality.

We can’t wait to see what this team can do in the games to come, with Eden Hazard playing from the start and the defence tightening up with every passing day in training.

You can read his quotes from the official website here:

‘I’m very happy because in the first part of the season for us it won’t be easy for us to gain points,’ said the Italian. ‘The first half was hard. If you look at the result you think it was an easy game but in the first half we were in trouble for 15 minutes against a physical team, we are not a physical team. In the second half the opponent was a bit tired and it was easier.
