Mateo Kovacic’s first words to Chelsea fans after completing season-long loan deal

Chelsea’s latest signing Mateo Kovacic says he is ready to do everything for the club after completing a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid.

The Blues completed the deal as part of the sale of Thibaut Courtois to Real this summer, and there are rumours that there’s an option to buy the Croatia international permanently next summer.

Kovacic has been pushing to leave Real Madrid after last season, following his fall in the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu. He fell behind Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro in Los Blancos midfield last season and eventually became a fringe player for Zinedine Zidane.

After moving to Stamford Bridge ahead of the transfer deadline day, Kovacic revealed in a tweet his joy at joining a new club, and that was confident of producing good form for his new club.

It will be a fresh start for Mateo, and an exciting time for Chelsea fans who get to see a top player come in at a bargain price.
