Gary Cahill’s time at Chelsea appears to have reached it’s end after Marina Granovskaia meets suitors

Since 2012, when Gary Cahill joined Chelsea from Bolton Wanderers, the central defender has been one of the most reliable players at the club and risen to become club captain, but those days seem almost over after recent reports linking him with a move to Turkey.

The Mirror says Chelsea’s sporting director Marina Granovskaia has met with Turkish club Galatasaray president Mustafa Cengiz, to discuss the possibility of them signing Cahill this summer.

His place in the Chelsea first team has become a certain isolated one in recent times having not made the starting eleven or the bench in the Premier League since the start of the season, Against Newcastle United, Maurizio Sarri chose Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz to start in his four-man defense while Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso flew on the wings in attack or defense.

The center back position on the bench was taken by Andreas Christensen but Sarri has explained why this has been the case.

Sarri via the Independent has also said Luiz is going to be very important this season, making it very difficult for Cahill to have a look-in.

Cahill can wait and get his chance although that looks very difficult with Sarri expected to stick to a definite group that continue to win him games, or the England international can decide to make a move now as at 32 years, there’s little time for him to continue making a mark in his career.
