Chelsea’s cult hero has words of advice for rising star

Cesar Azpilicueta is a hero to many Chelsea fans, and he’s the perfect model for any young player in the game – so let’s hope that our latest prodigy has been listening to what the Spaniard has had to say.

Azpi was speaking about Callum Hudson-Odoi’s performance against Arsenal last night, and in quotes carried on Goal.com, the defender has spoken about his young teammate and made a comparison between their respective careers.

“I started at 17-years-old when I made my debut. It is about consistency. He is coming from an academy level. He played with us a few times last season and he has been with us during this pre-season and he is improving. That’s really important and I know that he still has room to improve.”

Cesar is the perfect man for any young player to model their career on. As he says, he also stated at 17, and was racking up games at a young age, developing and maturing.

By the time he came to Chelsea, he was relegated to the bench at first, but his ceaseless hard work on the training pitch earned him a spot in the first team, and he’s never looked back since then.

Hudson-Odoi has the potential to be an absolute superstar, but to begin with he can take a lot from the words of the much less glamorous Azpi and his astonishing work ethic.
