Chelsea superstar reveals teammates were ‘thinking and talking’ Maurizio Sarri’s attacking philosophy before season began

Chelsea fans were greeted with a fair blend of attacking football and pragmatic variations that changed English football in Antonio Conte’s maiden season at the club in 2016, but following last season’s dismal and dull approach to football, the Blues now have a new man, promising fantastic football at Stamford Bridge.

Maurizio Sarri’s ‘Sarri-ball’ is taking full shape at the Bridge and many are sitting at the edge of their seats awaiting how things will unfold at the club in the coming months.

But it seems it is not only the fans who are caught up in awe of Sarri’s new brand of football, the players are too and could not wait to experience the changes the former Napoli tactician will implement at the club.

According to N’Golo Kante, he and his teammates were ‘thinking and talking’ about how to adapt to the new roles and he also explains how it will affect the club positively.

“Now the system is something different, especially the way we play now. So, even during the holidays, we were thinking and talking about how to adapt. It will require a lot of sacrifice from us all, so that is why I have to continue moving forward as a player.

I have worked with different managers in the past and different systems. The best way to always keep your position (in the team) is to remain focused and have the same attitude towards everyone. So that is what I am going to try to do again this season.”

Sarri has begun implementing the 4-3-3 formation at the club which will see Kante play alongside another attacking midfielder, in front of one sitting midfielder, with all indications pointing to Jorginho to will fill that role.
