Chelsea hierarchy face tough call over striker’s big season

It has been assumed for most of the summer that Tammy Abraham will go on loan this season.

After a superb spell with Bristol City in the Championship two years ago, Tammy made the step up to the Premier League when he joined Swansea last season.

That didn’t work out so well, and Tammy found himself working his socks off at the head of a very blunt Swans side that was really unable to create many chances for him. He ended up with 5 goals in 31 games.

It had been assumed that Tammy will join another top division side this season, hopefully one with a bit more attacking intent than his last team, but there have also been links to teams at the top of the Championship – see yesterday’s Daily Mail where Aston Villa were reported to be interested in picking him up.

It’s a tough call for the Chelsea hierarchy over whether they would rather see their young forward play in a more dominant side in a lower division or in a struggling side in the Prem.

Time is running out though, and they will have to decide soon.
