Chelsea decide when two new signings will get first start for Blues

Chelsea trained at Cobham yesterday in the pouring rain, and two new arrivals were on the scene.

All of the World Cup arrivals were present, and this time they were joined by new signings Kepa Arrizabalaga and Mateo Kovacic.

According to an article in yesterday’s Metro the former will start against Huddersfield tomorrow, while the latter needs more time to warm up his engines.

In fact, Kovacic all but confirmed that in his quotes about his own condition, admitting he hasn’t been training at full capacity with Real Madrid in recent times as his transfer grew closer.

Kepa, having arrived earlier than his outfield counterpart, has also had an extra session with the team under his belt. He can get stuck in straight away.

Kovacic’s absence, along with possible days off for the newly returned Eden Hazard, N’Golo Kante and Olivier Giroud, might mean a fairly lineup for the Blues in their opening game.
