Cesc Fabregas has not started the season the way he would have wanted, knowing there is massive competition for places in Maurizio Sarri’s squad.
The Spain international has not featured for Chelsea in any of their competitive games this campaign after injuring his knee, according to a report by the Sun.
Fabregas missed Chelsea’s away trip to Huddersfield last weekend and will not feature against Arsenal as well at Stamford Bridge in the Blues’ first Chelsea game at Stamford Bridge this season.
He’s up against N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Ross Barkley, Danny Drinkwater and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in a tight midfield battle this season under Maurizio Sarri, that will see only three play regularly. Already Sarri has hinted in his selections at swinging towards Jorginho, Kante and one of Barkley or Kovacic with Loftus-Cheek and Drinkwater considered the fringe players who will have limited minutes this season.
Sarri explains Fabregas has suffered an unusual injury that will keep him out for another week before he returns to training.
