Sarri’s triple signing would mean Chelsea must offload players soon

The World Cup is over, and we can finally consider the 2017/2018 season over too now.

It’s pretty late to be doing that – Chelsea are back in training for next season already, with a new coach already installed – at last.

But that doesn’t mean things aren’t a little tricky still at the club, the future of so many of the first team squad are in question, and Maurizio Sarri will have to make some decisions pretty quickly about who should stay and who should go.

The squad is extremely bloated now, and that will only be added to by further signings. There are several – including Daniele Rugani and Aleksandr Golovin – that seem almost done already, and just need a green light from the new boss.

Players are leaving on loan, but there are plenty that will need to go permanently too.

Let’s hope we don’t lose any new Mo Salahs or Kevin de Bruynes in the process.
