The reason Sevilla are so keen to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea

Sevilla’s plans to sign Timeoue Bakayoko are well established at this point, but the reasoning for their move may now have been revealed.

Estadio Deportivo are a Spanish paper based in the South, so they are always up to date with the latest Sevilla news, and their report on Bakayoko has some interesting new info.

The point of the piece is to discuss the rumoured interest of Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan in the player. But it’s another part which catches the eye.

They say that the reason Sevilla are so keen to sign the 1.89m central midfielder is to add some “muscle” to the midfielder, which new manager Joaquin Caparros noticed was missing when he took charge at the end of last season.

That’s why they signed Lille captain Ibrahim Amadou last month, and that’s why they’re keen on Baka. With Steven N’Zonzi set to leave too, their need for Baka will only grow.

The question is – are we willing to let him go?
