“I hope I did you proud” – Cesc Fabregas reveals his respect for Antonio Conte after Blues sack manager

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has become one of the first Chelsea stars to speak out after Antonio Conte was sacked from his manager position at the club.

The pair did not get on too well at the club when they first began working together with the midfielder sidelined for most part of the beginning to Conte two-year stay at Stamford Bridge. But Cesc dramatically improved at the club and became one of the first names on the team sheet moving into the second year, after Nemanja Matic had moved on to join Manchester United.

Last season was not the best Chelsea could have had in terms of results, restrained relationships between manager and players and also the manager and the club’s board, that led to the sack of the manager on Thursday.

Shortly after the announcement, Fabregas revealed his hope to have satisfied the departing manager ‘in the end’ while wishing him ‘good luck’ for the future.
