Getting rid of 90% of Timeoue Bakayoko would be a smart move by Blues

The arrival of Jorginho at Chelsea has had plenty of people discussing the incumbent midfielders and what their futures might be.

Tiemoue Bakayoko, last summer’s signing from Monaco, is one of those whose future is in question. There have been whispers of him going out on loan in recent days.

According to Football.London, some details of the potential deal are emerging. The Andalusian club are apparently willing to pay 90% of the Frenchman’s wages to bring him in for the season.

That strikes us as an excellent deal. Assuming we can’t get rid of Danny Drinkwater, we’re going to have an excess in that position, and letting Bakayoko go and develop would be a smart move.

Let’s not forget he’s 23 and has only just over 100 league games under his belt. We’ve seen flashes of his talent, he just needs a chance to develop further. There isn’t room to let him do that at Chelsea, so a strong La Liga team is a good second choice.
