Chelsea beat Inter Milan on penalties in an open and enjoyable game at the Allianz Riviera last night.
The Blues continued their impressive form from the first friendly, and totally dominated the first half against their Italian opposition.
The game was more balanced after the break, when Inter equalised and both sides made heavy changes, but the overall impression was another good showing from Maurizio Sarri’s team.
The only potential downside was an injury sustained by Andreas Christensen. The 22 year old was making his first appearance in Blue since the World Cup, coming on late on, but in the dying minutes he was clearly struggling with an injury.
He lasted until the end of the game, but there had been more than a couple of minutes to go you would likely have seen him subbed off.
Hopefully it’s just a minor knock that can he can shake off quickly as the team head back to Cobham for first team training.
