Eden Hazard spoke about his Chelsea future after the World Cup third place playoff game, as reported by the BBC here.
He was at least true to his word: he always said he would discuss his future after the competition, and as soon as that final whistle blew he was speaking into cameras, saying his future was perhaps away from Chelsea. Here are his full quotes for you to make up your own mind:
“I can decide if I want to stay or go but Chelsea will make the final decision – if they want to let me go… it might be time to discover something different”
Clearly he’s now pushing for a move, but only gently. He’s telling Real Madrid to bid, and if they do, he may try to push harder to get Chelsea to accept it.
That’s bad news, but we just have to hope that the Spanish team end up signing Neymar or Kylian Mbappe instead this summer. Eden doesn’t look desperate to leave, just interested if Real Madrid are.
So there’s not much we can do, just hope that Los Blancos find some softer targets.
