Jean Michel Seri, one of Chelsea’s top targets, is in London to finalise a transfer, according to reports in the Metro.
They quote France Football in saying that Seri is not with his Nice teammates at the start of their preseason, and also that he has a £35m release clause that expires on the 15th, that would make purchasing him very straightforward once a contract is agreed.
There don’t seem to be any photos or hard evidence around yet, but these things never stay secret for long, and someone’s sure to spot him on the Eurostar or something.
Whether or not he’s actually in London, it’s still a deal that looks very likely in the near future, with a host of London clubs apparently behind Chelsea in the queue for his signature.
Nice have had a great run, but they can’t hold on to him forever, and this 15th July deadline is unlikely to pass without at least one side matching that figure.
