Why Chelsea must consider N’Golo Kante’s future in the early parts of this season

N’Golo Kante has been ridiculously good for France in this World Cups, and it would be great to see the little guy lift the trophy.

But Chelsea fans must be worried about his recent workload.

The midfielder runs more than anyone else in the game pretty much, and hardly misses a match.

He played a hefty season with Leicester, then went to the Euros, then played two solid seasons with Chelsea, and has now gone through a full World Cup.

He hasn’t shown signs of fatigue in his play, but the hamstring warning he got at the start of last season was a warning. The last thing we want is for our star man to burn out before his time.

Maurizio Sarri must give him a long rest and use him sparingly at first. Hopefully he can be rested in the Europa League early rounds, to allow him to focus on league fixtures.
