N’Golo Kante was a nobody a few years ago, but his rise has been so rapid that he’s on the verge of outgrowing Chelsea – a club he only joined two seasons ago.
So good have his performances been for the Blues – even in and up and down season this time round, that all the big names have been sniffing around him. That includes Real Madrid and PSG.
So far he hasn’t expressed any interest in leaving, so we’ve been able to breathe easier than we have with Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard, who have turned down new contracts and made no secret of their desire to go.
But according to Bleacher Report, the club are aware of how important it is to keep hold of the Frenchman, so they’re making progress on a £200,000 a week new contract offer.
He’s likely to be our best player at the end of this summer, assuming Eden goes, so pay him whatever the hell he wants.
