Chelsea eye Juventus young defender with Maurizio Sarri’s move imminent

Chelsea have been rumored to be chasing Daniele Rugani as one of their main defensive targets this summer despite initial resistance from Juventus.

The Turin club are expected to put up a fight for their young defender who has a bright future ahead of him having warmed himself up into the world football’s elite. He is gradually winning over fans in Italy and has attracted interest from top clubs in the Serie A.

Chelsea are the latest top club to express their interest in him and are ready to make a bid as soon as Maurizio Sarri arrives at the club. Rugani has been admired by Maurizio Sarri for sometime now including when he was head coach of Napoli and now wants to work with the center back.

For €40 million, Chelsea can sign the defender this summer as TuttoSport, via Calciomercato report that Juventus are willing to allow the defender leave for Chelsea if the price is right.

If he does arrive, he will compete with Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Gary Cahill for a spot alongside mainstay Cesar Azpilcueta in the center back positions.
