AC Milan offer Chelsea tempting offer to replace departing star in order to sign Alvaro Morata

Chelsea are having to make quick and firm decisions on the future of some of their stars as they prepare to rebuild their squad under Maurizio Sarri and Alvaro Morata’s is key to the plans this summer.

The future of the striker is up in the air after a rather quiet start to life at Stamford Bridge. Although he electrified the Premier League in his first few games at Chelsea, Morata has sunk into oblivion in the last few months failing to nail down a sport ahead of Olivier Giroud, while struggling to score goals.

Some expected him to leave the club certainly this summer with links to former club Juventus, but Sarri might have plans for him. Whether those plans are true and long lasting or not, AC Milan will not give the Blues the pleasure to rethink. They are willing to force Chelsea’s hands to offer young and promising goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma for Morata in a swap deal this summer according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport via Calciomercato.

That might be an attractive proposition to Chelsea who are readying themselves for a departure of Thibaut Courtois and in the event that the Belgian leaves for Real Madrid, Donnarumma will be a fine replacement option while the prospect of losing one of the best young strikers in European football will not be the ideal business the Blues top hierarchy may want to do.
