Cheeky Cesc Fabregas relishes Spain chaos after manager snub

There’s been some explosive news on the eve of the World Cup, and it affects plenty of Chelsea stars.

With just two days until their first game, Spain have fired manager Julen Lopetegui.

The Basque had just agreed to take the Real Madrid job after the World Cup, and that decision clearly didn’t go down too well with the Spanish FA.

They’ve sacked Lopetegui within 24 hours, and left their team in the lurch on a point of principle.

While Cesar Azpilicueta is actually in the squad and will now be in a state of real uncertainty, the Chelsea players who were left out – like Alvaro Morata and Marcos Alonso – will be less unhappy.

Cesc Fabregas has even tweeted with a hint of relish about the whole affair, noting in an ironic reply to Gary Lineker that he might now have a chance of a callup.

That looks unlikely, but given the events of the last 24 hours, we’re not ruling anything out.
