Why Mauricio Pochettino will never come to Chelsea despite Abramovich rumours

Silly season is well and truly underway.

Chelsea have been linked widely with a huge variety of avilable or supposedly available managers already, from  Max Allegri through Luis Enrique to Maurizio Sarri.

That’s not forgetting, of course, that they already technically have a manager in place.

The latest reports, coming tonight from the Metro, claim that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

This truly is a new level of hopefulness. Pochettino has turned Spurs into a top team on a relative shoestring, and Chelsea would be lucky to have him.

Sadly, despite some recent agitations to persuade Daniel Levy to increase the budget, Poch seems pretty happy at Spurs.

They’re about to move into a new stadium, they’re in the Champions League, and he’s built a great team. Why would he give that up to come to the basket case at Chelsea? No matter how much Roman wants him, it’s not happening anytime soon.
