20 year old prospect makes vital error to remind Chelsea fans of his rawness

Recently we highlighted Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa of Marseille, saying that he was a player Chelsea should be looking at as they look for potential bargains to upgrade the midfield.

The Cameroonian played last night against Atletico Madrid, and unfortunately for him made the game-breaking error. Receiving a pass from goalkeeper Steve Mandanda, Anguissa took a heavy touch and had the ball nicked off him. Gabi played in Antoine Griezmann to open the scoring.

Before that moment Marseille had been excellent, and the midfielder had been their star. It was a shocking moment and there was no way back for the French team.

It’s a real shame for the 22 year old, who’s truly had a breakout season, but a reminder that he’s still fairly raw, and that he was never going to be the finished article if he bought him this season.

Still, he can learn from this, and there’s still a huge amount of potential there to work with.
