Vital comeback starts to repair morale ahead of FA Cup test

Chelsea have nothing to play for in the Premier League anymore except pride, but you should’t underestimate how important that can be in football.

The game’s lack of significance did nothing to reduce the anger at the performance produced by the Blues in the first half, and equally the good vibes being spread around after the comeback will go a long way to making training a happier place this week.

It must be tough at Cobham at the moment knowing that the manager is leaving in the summer, with another wave of uncertainty crashing over the club.

But at least with a more upbeat week in prospect after a spirit raising win, we might see another improvement in performance in the next game.

There is still talent in this team, despite recent results, and getting on a good run now could give us a chance of lifting the FA Cup.
