Chelsea target slaughtered by big money opposition

Chelsea fans have had plenty to say about who the new manager should be, with various factions of fans battling back and forth over managers they often know little about.

The 7-1 thrashing that PSG gave out to Monaco last night will have given plenty of them the chance to roll their eyes about the potential of appointing Leonardo Jardim, who saw his team taken apart by a Paris team that didn’t even have Neymar or Kylian M’Bappe on the pitch.

One result shouldn’t make too much of a difference when it comes to judging a manager, but on the other hands it’s hard to imagine how bad the reaction would have been to Antonio Conte taking this kind of beating, even to the best team in the league.

Ultimately Jardim has shown himself able to build a team able to compete with PSG’s endless spending, and given the situation Chelsea find themselves relative to Manchester City right now, that might end up being a useful skill.
