Chelsea set to make €75m for Serie A top defender next summer

Chelsea are in search of quality players to add to their squad for next season’s campaign and that means even old targets are re linked with the Stamford Bridge outfit.

Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly is one top target that just won’t go away especially as the summer transfer window approaches, and the more he scores goals and defends gallantly, the more top clubs across Europe are linked to him.

His performance ans goal against Juventus last Sunday was evident of the kind of player he has become in the last few seasons, putting in top displays against top teams consistently in Italy.

Sports Witness quotes Il Mattino, Naples’ local newspaper, as saying Chelsea are set to make a €75m bid for the Senegal international to beef up what has been an unstable defense this season.

With David Luiz over 30 years old and Gary Cahill ageing nicely, Chelsea will need a new spine at the back to augment Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen. That has led to the chase of Koulibaly who Napoli have been reluctant to do business on in recent summers.
