Chelsea fans are in a gloomy mood, and it’s hard to blame them.
The season has petered out, there’s only the FA Cup to play for now, and nobody thinks the club has any chance of winning it.
Not only that, but with a squad that desperately needs a clearout, there’s been little to no evidence that the club is willing to spend the money necessary to actually improve the team.
Every time the quality in the squad drops, the cost of improving that team back to a competitive level increases, and as it stands we look like we will be further away than ever from competing at the top level.
But perhaps there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Perhaps Roman has heard the cries of the fans. There are rumours in the Metro today, that the Blues are after Robert Lewandowski for a sum north of £60m.
Nonsense, or could this be the start of a new era?
