Chelsea given bizarre FA Cup boost against Tottenham against all logic

Ask any Chelsea fan who has been watching the team in the last few months and they will tell you the Blues have little to no chance of winning the FA Cup.

It’s the only meaningful competition that the team are left in, but that doesn’t change anything.

To beat Tottenham or Manchester United in the final, you would need a combination of luck, skill and determination.

At the moment, the Blues don’t appear to have any of the three.

Which is what makes it all the more puzzling that the bookies have Antonio Conte’s team at 7/4 to win the competition, shorter than Tottenham at 2/1.

Largely this will be down to the fact that Spurs have to take on Manchester United in the other semi final, while Chelsea face Southampton in theirs.

Of course at this stage of the competition it’s all pretty random. You’d probably be better off going into a casino and throwing your money onto red or black at the roulette table than trying to predict how this Chelsea team will play.

But nevertheless, the bookies know best, and if they think the Blues have a better chance of winning the competition than Tottenham, it must be the case.

But either way, it adds up to the same thing. Just don’t let yourself get tempted into wasting your cash trying to predict how Antonio Conte’s inconsistent side will play.
