“I’m committed to Chelsea” – Top Real Madrid target makes huge statement on future at Chelsea

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has given a big update on his future after recent rumors linking him with a move away from the club.

Courtois has been one of the most talked about players in the transfer market in the last two windows. Real Madrid have been the most linked club to the Belgium international and with his contract set to wind down even faster in the following season, Chelsea will not be faulted, if they were a bit apprehensive.

His form has been largely inconsistent this season as well, making rash decision and sometimes slow ones to concede goals in crucial games. Most notably, his performance against Barcelona in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 second leg attracted lots of criticisms after conceding two goals through his legs, on a different day, he may have saved.

Those heavy links with Real won’t go away though, and Courtois has now made a big statement on where his future lies beyond next summer, much to the delight of Chelsea fans.

“I’m committed to Chelsea. I have a contract until next year and I will be here. I will do my best for it.

Obviously there is no extension signed but I don’t think now is the moment to do it. I think it is better to wait until the end of the season. All I can say is I’m committed to Chelsea and also committed for next year.”
