Chelsea defender visiting Barcelona days before his side travel for Champions League game

Chelsea defender David Luiz is thought to be frequenting Barcelona too try and solve his knee problem permanently after being ruled out for another month.

The central defender has been missing from Chelsea’s first team squad for the majority of the season due to the injury to his knee. He was a key cog in Conte’ setup last season and the beginning of this one, until he was replaced by Andreas Christensen.

His persistent knee injury has also not helped his course at the club. The injury means Luiz has featured for Chelsea only three times in 2018, with Christensen replacing him very well.

Sky Sports reports in a bid to be fit ahead of the World Cup and bursting into the Antonio Conte team at Stamford Bridge, Luiz has visited a specialist in Barcelona twice already.

The report also says Luiz is hoping to be fit by the end of March when Chelsea take on Tottenham Hotspur on April 1.
