Reason Marcos Alonso is missing Chelsea’s game against West Brom

Chelsea are without Marcos Alonso in their game against West Bromwich Albion on Monday night, and it has been revealed that the defender is out because of a twisted ankle.

The left wing back twisted his ankle that ruled him out of the game, on Saturday while in training according to Antonio Conte.

This could rule him out of Chelsea’s crucial Champiosn Legaue round of 16 clash with Barcelona next week Tuesday, and Davide Zappacosta is primed to replace him on the left of Chelsea’s squad.

The Blues seem to lack balance when the Spain international does not feature in games, as it was only in the final days of the winter transfer window, that the club secured Emerson Palmieri from AS Roma.

With Palmieri still not fully fit, Zappacosta was named to start on the left of the five-man midfield in the absence of Alonso.

Chelsea will hope to have Alonso back quickly as games get tougher with the season drawing to it’s business end.
