Midfielder the latest victim of Chelsea’s hamstring curse

January signing Ross Barkley has become the latest victim of Chelsea’s ongoing issue with hamstring problems.

The former Everton man has only just returned from almost 8 months out following surgery on that same tendon, and now he faces another indeterminate period on the sidelines.

Chelsea are on an awful run of hamstring issues, with N’Golo Kante, Victor Moses and Cesc Fabregas among the recent victims in the Blues.

Barkley’s start against Bournemouth in midweek was his first at Chelsea, and could be his last for a while if the issue keeps him out for a significant time.

The spate of issues has lead to criticism of Antonio Conte’s training methods, with some saying that the Italian’s intense sessions are causing the problems.

It’s not yet clear how sever Barkley’s issue is, but Chelsea are expected to reveal more details in the next 24 hours as they prepare to face Watford on Monday night.
