Thorgan Hazard rolls ahead of Eden in brothers’ race for best stats

Eden Hazard has been having an excellent season. After missing the first couple of months of the season with a broken ankle, the Belgian returned to the team and played some of the best football he’s produced in a Chelsea shirt through the autumn into the winter.

His form tailed off a little through the endless grind of Christmas and the New Year, but against Brighton he put in another 10/10 display to remind us all just how good he is.

But he’s not the only Hazard tearing up Europe.

His brother Thorgan, formerly of Chelsea and now of Borussia Monchengladbach, also had an exceptional game at the weekend, scoring and picking up an assist for his club.

That takes the younger Hazard to 7 goals and 4 assists in the league, a total of 11 direct contributions to goals. Eden has 8 goals and 2 assists.

While those numbers don’t tell the full story, which is that Eden has been brilliant, they certainly give you an indication that little brother isn’t far behind.
