Heartbreak for Chelsea as target set to reject Antonio Conte and stay at Juventus

Chelsea target Giorgio Chiellini is set to reject Chelsea’s overtures and stick with Juventus as contract renewal negotiations get close.

The defender will be out of contract in the summer and has been one of the most sought after players in Massimilliano Allegri’s squad but he has seems to have closed all doors on a possible switch from the Turin side. Chelsea are one of those said to be interested in him as the summer transfer window approaches, and David Luiz’s continuous feud with Antonio Conte remains.

The Brazil international could leave Stamford Bridge by next summer if his situation at the club does not improve. He has had to sit out on the bench, succumbing his position in the starting 11 for sometime – before his knee injury ruled him out for the last few weeks – to 21 year old Andreas Christensen.

His departure creates space for another center back to be signed and Chiellini is one of Conte’s top targets but the Italy defender is confident his deal with Juventus will be extended when the season ends.

“Extend my contract with Juventus? I’ll meet the club after the holidays to discuss the contract extension and I think that there won’t be any surprise. Juventus feels like family to me and I couldn’t be better.”
