Chelsea’s move for Emerson Palmieri is almost done.
The proof in the pictures Kenedy in Newcastle. The Brazilian has been used as Marcos Alonso’s backup this season and through the second half of last term, and now the club is finally confident they will have a new player in that position they are letting him head to the North East on loan.

Emerson will arrive at some point in the next couple of days in a deal estimated to be worth about £22m before add ons. But the Blues weren’t the only side interested in the Italo-Brazilian. As recently as a week ago, Italian paper La Gazzetta dello Sport was claiming that Liverpool were the prime candidates to secure the wing back.
This makes it a double success for Chelsea – not only have they secure their own target, they’ve also stopped their rivals strengthening a weak position in their own team.
