Chelsea have put Thorgan Hazard on their shortlist of potential signings, and it’s hardly surprising given the development of their former player.
The Belgian has been improving steadily at Borussia Monchengladbach, who bought him permanently after a successful loan from Chelsea. Unfortunately it seems the buyback clause that we had in his initial deal has now expired.
This season in 17 starts, Eden’s brother has 6 goals and 3 assists, and has really impressed as one of the outstanding attacking players in the Bundesliga.

There’s another obvious factor in this however: the desire to get Eden Hazard to sign a new deal. The club have had all of his brothers on their books at some point, and bringing Thorgan back to potentially compete for the first team might convince his older brother to sign a new contract.
If he manages that, whatever we pay for him would be a bargain, whether or not he has a long term future at the club.
