Andreas Christensen reveals one exciting reason he plays for Chelsea

Andreas Christensen says the prospect of Chelsea fighting for trophies at teh end of each season excites him after he signed his new contract with the club.

The 21-year old signed a new contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge for the next four and half years after making a breakthrough in the first team this season.

Prior to this campaign, the youngster made several loan moves and spent the last couple of years at Borussia Monchengladbach as one of their regular players. He was even involved when the German side took on Barcelona in the Champions league and proved to be one of the star players in the tie.

His efforts this season has given him the edge over David Luiz, who endured a feud with manager Antonio Conte and a spell on the sidelines after injuring his knee.

Christensen insists the excitement in fighting for trophies make him want to stay at Chelsea but rallies his teammates around for more as they continue the hunt for trophies this season.

It’s exciting, one of the things we are looking forward to. One of the things I am excited about with Chelsea is that every year we are competing for silverware, every title possible. It’s a great feeling and comes with playing for a great team, but it’s important to get across the line.

I don’t think it will ever feel normal preparing for these big games. I just look forward to every game and what comes with it, but the big matches like this are the ones you want to play.”
