“It’s well documented that he hasn’t settled quickly” – Frank Lampard slams Chelsea signing

Frank Lampard has become the latest pundit to criticise Tiemoue Bakayoko, pointing out how the midfielder lost concentration when he was supposed to be marking Saul Niguez, allowing the Atleti midfielder to sneak in and score at the far post as Chelsea conceded to Atletico Madrid.

“It’s well documented that he hasn’t settled quickly”, Lampard is quoted as saying in the Independent.

Bakayoko has come in for increasing criticism from Chelsea fans, who are losing patience with their summer signing after feeling he’s not making the kind of progress they were hoping for from a player who reached the Champions League semi final last time out.

Bakayoko played a lot earlier in the season when Danny Drinkwater and then N’Golo Kante were out, but he’s now been phased out of Antonio Conte’s first XI, despite the move to a system that plays three midfielders.

Other fans have defended the former Monaco man, saying that he’s still young and settling into a new league.
