“Vital efforts off the bench” – Why Chelsea attacker will not be leaving in January

Willian’s vital efforts off the bench have been more valuable than ever in recent weeks, and there is no chance he will leave Chelsea in January.

The Brazilian had been linked with a move away from Chelsea in the winter window, with Manchester United apparently a possible destination, and Palmeiras in his home country also mentioned.

While Willian hasn’t been starting much, and the switch to 352 has meant even fewer minutes for the former Shakhtar man as he sits on the bench and divides sub appearances with Pedro, there’s no way he’s going in January.

The squad is too thin as it is, the and impact that the 29 year old has made in recent games has been vital. Against Qarabag in the Champions League he made the difference as the Blues blew the Azeris away, he scored the equaliser against Liverpool that weekend and then started again last night in Yorkshire, scoring the second and assisting the first to show just how vital he is to the team.

There’s no way Antonio Conte will let him go.
