“He is recovering from a bad flu” – Antonio Conte reveals more injury issues

Antonio Conte has revealed more fitness concerns that will be troubling him with a League Cup quarter final against Bournemouth coming up.

It was when he was asked about Marcos Alonso’s suspension that he ended up mentioning Zappacosta, saying that he had a “bad flu” that he’s still suffering the effects of.

Victor Moses has returned and is firing on all cylinders at right back now, which in the last few weeks has allowed Italian Zappacosta to play on the left as cover for Alonso.

However now Alonso will have a one match ban for picking up his fifth yellow, it will be a race against time to see if Zappa will be fit enough to play from the start for the Blues.

If not, Brazilian Kenedy is one option, or perhaps even Cesar Azpilicueta with a reshuffled back line.
