Chelsea’s development squad gave MK Dons a beating in the Checkatrade trophy last night, and while Michy Batshuayi got a lot of the credit – not least for scoring twice 24 hours after playing for the senior team – there was another more surprising choice as man of the match for many people.
Kyle Scott has been training with the first team all season, but was somewhat supplanted by the arrival of Ethan Ampadu, who stole the couple of starts and sub appearances that the American born midfielder could otherwise have had.
But he ran the show yesterday, and that might be enough to convince Antonio Conte to give him a chance.
Chelsea fans on Twitter who saw the game – which wasn’t many, let’s face it – were raving about his performance, which saw him cover tons of ground in midfield and pick up an assist for Michy Batshuayi.
A January loan could be the best move for the 19 year old.
Kyle Scott needs a loan

Checkertrade trophy ko stage giving a mix of 1st team, Development/youth a chance to shine for CFC at MK Dons. 3-0 h-t Batsuayhi 2 & goalkeeping calamity gifting Callum Hudson-Odoi the 3rd. Kyle Scott the surprise 1st team squad member (for me) running the show.

Good performances everywhere from #CFCDev in a match they understandably proved to be overwhelming in, but Kyle Scott again stood out. Only two appearances this season but excellent in both, badly needs a loan move or more football next month.
